A low coefficient of thermal expansion allows a good heat shock resistance and facilitates the use of PYREX glass at high operating temperatures. A good acid resistance and a high optical transmission over a wide wavelength range make PYREX a versatile material for many different special glass applications. PYREX can be ground, polished and coated according to custom specific requirements. Borosilicate Glass is made from silica and boric oxide. Such glass is highly resistant to chemical corrosion, temperature change and thermal shock. It is especially well suited for high-powered lamps and other technical glass ware. federal impact safety standard, Consumer Product Safety Commision Cat. II,
which requires withstanding 400 ft. lbs. of impact, and is perfect for use in
door and sidelite applications where impact safety is required or a concern.
Standard wired glass lost its exemption from safety requirements due to
the many injuries caused by its use in K-12 schools. SuperLite I-W was
developed by SAFTI FIRST™ to provide an inexpensive replacement for nonsafety traditional wired
